The Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i 2.0) is the world’s leading measure of emotional intelligence, applying decades of research to support effective human performance and development. The EQ-i 2.0 is an online self-rating assessment tool, with the option of adding a multi-rater EQ 360.
Emotional intelligence assessment
Emotional intelligence skills are critical for building relationships and teams, resolving conflict, solving problems, leading effectively and building resilience. The EQ-i 2.0 provides you with a detailed assessment of your areas of strength and potential areas for development. You will receive a comprehensive report describing how your EQ competencies work together for effectiveness. It also provides suggested strategies for bringing your EQ competencies into balance for greater effectiveness.
The EQ-i 2.0 assessment is administered online, using a secure site. You will respond to 133 statements related to emotional intelligence skills, which takes approximately twenty minutes to complete.
Once you’ve completed your EQ inventory, the person who invited you to take the EQ-i 2.0 will create your report for you. There are two main report types.
The Workplace Report puts the emphasis on your workplace performance and the Leadership Report focuses on your leadership effectiveness, each in the context of emotional intelligence. Your comprehensive report provides you with your overall results, and presents these using the five EQ composite areas: Self-Perception, Self-Expression, Interpersonal, Decision Making and Stress Management. The report also provides a detailed interpretation of how effectively you are using the 15 EQ competencies and how, by balancing these competencies, you can significantly improve your well-being, workplace and leadership performance, interpersonal relationships and communication.
The reports you receive provide a detailed analysis of your results.
EQ-i 2.0 Reports
EQ-i 2.0 Leadership Report
The EQ-i 2.0 Leadership Report places EQ results in the context of four dimensions of a transformational leadership model and puts EQ results into leadership development language. You will see in the sample report the dimensions are authenticity, coaching, insights, and innovation. There is also a leadership norm made up of high performing leaders as identified by performance review which raises the bar on EQ. We find that our leadership development clients respond very well to the EQ-i 2.0 Leadership Report and find it provides them with a great deal of extremely useful information for their growth and development to improve their leadership effectiveness and very useful information for recruiters in the hiring process.
EQ-i 2.0 Workplace Report
The EQ-i 2.0 Workplace Report puts EQ results into a general workplace context versus the Leadership Report in which the focus is leadership. The Workplace Report is an excellent choice where leadership is not the focus, e.g. front-line employees or members of an intact team.
EQ 360 Leadership Report
With a minimum of 3-4 raters per group, we can obtain some excellent comparisons between the EQ ratings of the manager who is being rated and how their various rater groups rate them. From a discussion of these results a development plan can be co-created.
